Encre Noire by Lalique (2006) is a dark, woody-aromatic fragrance built around vetiver and cypress for men. It opens with a crisp, slightly green cypress note that instantly gives it a fresh contrast. In the heart, vetiver (especially Bourbon and Haitian) brings earthy smoke and bitter woodsy tones. The dry-down uses cashmere wood and musk to mellow things out, adding softness and warmth while letting the darker accents linger.
